Own a small business? Why It’s Important to have a great website...

Unless you’re a small business owner who is not interested in growing your brand, you need to have a website.

The number one reason is BUSINESS CREDIBILITY.

When potential new customers are checking out your business what is the first thing they do these days - google your website, and if you have no website they may think you are just not that professional.

Other reasons why you need a website.

Possibly the second biggest reason is we are in a time where people would rather contact you digitally than call on the phone. They check your website and if they are happy it is highly likely they will send you a message or email.

No matter what kind of business you’re in today, your customers go online to …

  • Get information about products

  • Comparison shop

  • Find out more about you

  • Check your reviews

  • Check on orders and product availability,

  • Learn business hours, and more.

Also, if you don’t have a website, then you won’t have search engine placement, which will drive a stake through the heart of your ability to sell your business. Your website should be a BIG company asset.

Fatal Mistake - Using Facebook as your website.

Never use Facebook as your primary website this is a seriously bad look. Even Facebook wants to check you have a website to provide validity for your Facebook page so why would you use a Facebook page as your website. Facebook definitely has a place in your marketing strategy but is not your online home.

The same applies to those directory services that provide you with a page, so you use it as your main website. Not only is this tacky but you are really only helping their website - just don’t do it.

The cost of Websites

Years ago the cost of a building a website was significant and required businesses to make a major investment. It is not the case now. Tools like Wordpress and Squarespace* can be used to build beautiful classy websites that really enhance your brand. You can build the website yourself or find a someone who will do it for you for a fraction of the cost a web developer would charge you.
